The project Pop-Up-Tuft. In short:

«Tuft» is a Norwegian word with different meanings. Originally from Norse, meaning plot, a place a house once where. A trace from an old house, societies. You can also say, walking old «tufter». Or create something new on old «tufter». I guess my interpretation on this word, in this project, is a combination on these understandings.

I am travelling the county I was born in – Nordland. This is where I have some of my Sámi background, and also the place that is closest on my childhood memory. My grandparents house in Ballangen, some 60 kilometers south of Narvik, has formed me.

So – I start here. In Ballangen. And I wonder what happens if I bring my Middle East images into the landscapes of my Sámi and Norwegian ancestors.

This is Art on the road. Pop-Up-Tuft.
